PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide)
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a high-temperature, crystalline thermoplastic. The chemical structure of PPS is responsible for the high melting point, outstanding chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-flammability of the polymer. The polymer is characterized by high stiffness and good retention of mechanical properties at elevated temperature, which provide utility in coatings as well as in molding compounds. Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) do not stress crack, but they are notch sensitive. The largest end use of PPS is in electric/electronic components including interconnection devices, coil forms, bobbins, yokes, and terminal boards.
