Ultramid® Advanced N5H UN

Ultramid® Advanced N5H UN by BASF is a high temperature-resistant, long alkyl chain PPA. It possesses high impact resistance, excellent wear behavior & abrasion resistance. Due to its semi-aromatic chemical structure it provides excellent mechanics of up to 125°C in wet or conditioned state. Even in humid environments this high-performance grade offers very low water uptake resulting in high dimensional stability and small influence on properties. Ultramid® Advanced N5H UN shows excellent resistance to chemicals and hydrolysis, even in aggressive environments and resistance to hot oil, coolants, aggressive fuels, acids, calcium or zinc chloride solutions. This grade depicts simple processing with a broad parameter window & good flowability. It displays good sliding friction properties at temperatures above 100°C. It is easy to produce finished components from the semi-finished products by post-processing. It is suitable for extrusion of stock shapes and extruding pre-fabricated components and small assemblies. It is designed for extruded rods, gear wheels, pumps, LED housing components, kitchen appliances, mechanical engineering, thermostat housings and sliding rails. In the automotive industry, the material is particularly suitable for components that meet motor and transmission oils, coolants, acids, salts and de-icing fluids.
