Ultramid® BU50I

Ultramid® BU50I by BASF is an impact modified polyamide 6 (PA6) grade. Possesses excellent toughness, good elastic properties, high dimensional stability, high creep strength and excellent sliding friction properties. Provides high rigidity, hardness, strength, stiffness and thermal stability, good toughness at low temperatures, good processability, good damping characteristics and high shock resistance even in dry state and at low temperatures. Maintains its impact strength and ductility to -40°C. Exhibits outstanding resistance to chemicals, lubricants, fuels, hydraulic fluids and coolants, refrigerants, dyes, paints, cleaners, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and many other solvents. Is resistant to corrosion, to aqueous solutions of salts and alkalis and to stress-crack formation compared to many amorphous plastics. Processed by injection molding. Ultramid® BU50I is recommended for applications in which the weld-line impact strength at low temperatures is critical such as automotive components, small engines, power tool parts and casings, cold weather and high impact sports gear, such as snowboards, ski components, helmets and hockey masks. Is compliant with RohS directive 2011/65/EC, WEEE directive 2002/96/EC.
