Ultramid® S3WG6 Balance

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BASF
Ultramid® S3WG6 Balance by BASF is a reinforced, polyamide PA 6-10 grade. It displays very high heat-aging resistance. It is produced by polycondensation of hexamethylene diamine and sebacic acid. It is based on 60% sebacic acid, a renewable raw material derived from castor oil. It differs from conventional PA 6 and PA 66 in a reduced water uptake and stress cracking resistance. It is highly resistant to fuels, oils and greases, to most solvents, aqueous solutions and alkalis. It is processed by injection molding. Ultramid® S3WG6 Balance is used in overmolding metal and electronic components that come into contact with aggressive media, for example wheel speed sensors, housing and gear components where dimensional stability is a major consideration, plug-in connectors, pipes and reservoirs in cooling circuits with high demands on hydrolysis resistance.
