NV -10

NV -10 by Novista is a hard, brittle, chalking-free chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) resin. Produced by our newly invented hydrochloric acid phase technology, in which no organic solvent such as carbon tetrachloride is involved, resulting no destruction to ozone layer. Exhibits high chemical stability, good salt water resistance and good ultraviolet (UV) resistance. Is a non-toxic, non-flammable, odorless grade. It is readily soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons like toluene, xylene & solvent naphtha, ketone MEK & MIBK, ester ethyl acetate, butyl acetate and tetrahydrofuran. Insoluble in alcohols like methanol, ethanol & butanol, aliphatic hydrocarbons like hexane, heptane, mineral spirit and alicyclic hydrocarbon like cyclohexane & ethylcyclohexane. It forms a colorless to pale yellow, transparent solution when solubilized in organic solvents. When this solution is applied to the surface of metal, concrete, paper, the solvent readily vaporizes at room temperature to leave a transparent, hard and lustrous glass-like film. This film resists the permeation of moisture and oxygen gas, and shows high resistance to various chemicals such as acids and alkalis. It protects the substrates from corrosion. NV -10 by Novista is used as a paint for road marking, gravure packing printing ink and waterproof & heavy-duty anti-corrosion marine paint for offshore facilities & ships.
