AvaSpire® AV-650 GF30 BG 20

AvaSpire® AV-650 GF30 BG 20 is a flame retardant, beige colored polyaryletherketones (PAEK) grade reinforced with 30% glass fiber. Is suitable for processing by injection molding, profile extrusion and machining. Possesses excellent colorability, high heat resistance, fatigue resistance, improved ductility and toughness. Exhibits better dimensional stability and better warp resistance than 30% carbon fiber reinforced PEEK grade, 20% higher tensile elongation at yield and twice the tensile elongation at break value when compared to PEEK grades. Provides higher chemical resistance, higher mechanical strength and stiffness than unfilled AV-650 resin. This material can be repeatedly exposed to harsh chemicals and prolonged steam sterilization cycles without any significant loss of properties. Used in healthcare/medical applications like orthopedic and dental instruments, surgical power tool battery housings, oil and gas industry and in devices/components that require combination of high temperature performance and high environmental resistance. Passes 60s VB flame, smoke and toxicity requirements and complies with FAA FAR 25.853a.
