Ryton® R-4-242

Ryton® R-4-242 by Syensqo is a natural, black colored, flame retardant polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) reinforced with 40% glass fiber. It exhibits heat resistance, excellent dimensional stability, very low moisture absorption and strong chemical resistance. It possesses high flow, easy processability of complex parts, high mechanical properties and low outgassing. It provides long-term reliability at temperatures up to 200°C (392°F). It is used in food industry appliance components such as parts for deep-oil fryers, coffee machines, ovens and microwaves. Ryton® R-4-242 complies with UL 94 V0 flame rating, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, NSF 51 and European Union’s EU 10/2011 regulations for use as a component material intended for in food contact applications.
