Bio-PET

Bio-PET by Toyobo is sugarcane-based, PET. The ethylene glycol materials for the PET products are derived entirely from plant-based resources. It is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions in comparison with conventional petroleum-derived PET products. It helps in reducing the consumption of petroleum resources and thereby contributed to restraining global warming. It possesses the same strength as petroleum-derived PET, including dimensional stability, uniformity of thickness, and superior transparency. Bio-PET is used for packaging films (heat shrink PET-type films and PET films) as well as for non-woven fabrics.
