Let’s start by stating that millions of traditional end use plastic parts such as automotive glove box doors, electronic entertainment consoles, or appliance mix master bases are still on the far manufacturing horizon. However, progressive incremental steps have been rapidly occurring of late in terms of:
- 3D printing molds, fixtures, and jigs used in plastics manufacturing processes, and
- the actual 3D printing of parts going into 3D printers.
So we’re definitely at the starting line of an emerging manufacturing renaissance.
