CARLISLE, Pa. -- Carlisle SynTec Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of single-ply-roofing products and systems for more than 40 years, announced that the Grand Opening of its new, 250,000 square foot TPO thermoplastic roofing manufacturing facility located in Tooele, Utah is planned for early November. The Utah facility will manufacture Carlisle's highly successful Sure-Weld® TPO membranes and accessories positioning the company as the first major roofing manufacturer with a TPO plant in the western United States.

The 250,000 square foot Tooele, Utah facility is Carlisle's fourth roofing membrane manufacturing plant in the U.S.

"We are pleased to announce construction is on schedule and we fully expect to meet our goal of launching production by the fourth quarter," Peter Franzosa, Carlisle's Director of Plant Engineering, said. "While the contractors and technicians work on completion of the office suite and the telecommunication/data systems, our engineers are supervising the installation of all production and utility equipment. Approximately 60 percent of the equipment that will support the production of Carlisle's Sure-Weld TPO membranes has been delivered to the site and installed. Preliminary testing and evaluation should begin in August," Franzosa added.

The Tooele, Utah facility is Carlisle's fourth roofing membrane manufacturing plant in the United States. "We are committed to meeting the growing TPO demands of our loyal western authorized applicators, representatives and distributors," said Ron Head, Carlisle's Sales and Marketing Manager, Thermoplastics Group. "We are fortunate to have identified a location in the western United States that offers expeditious year-round transportation as well as a community that is accommodating and welcoming. Our Grand Opening will be an opportunity for our reps, distributors and customers to tour the plant as well as a gesture of appreciation to the great state of Utah and the community of Tooele."

"We are pleased with Carlisle SynTec's plans to expand its operations in Utah," said Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. "Carlisle is a nationally known manufacturing company with a proven environmental track record. In return, the Utah Industrial Depot in Tooele is an ideal location for the company, offering an excellent site and a highly qualified workforce."

Carlisle also announced that the Tooele site will make more than TPO membranes and accessories as Hunter Panels, a Carlisle SynTec affiliate and a leading manufacturer of energy efficient polyisocyanurate roof insulation, announced plans to open its fifth U.S. manufacturing facility in Tooele. Hunter Panels produces a full line of rigid polyisocyanurate roof insulation for use in public and commercial buildings. Both manufacturing facilities have been strategically positioned to enhance the companies' service capabilities to the western market and meet industry demand.

Carlisle SynTec Incorporated, headquartered in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, has been manufacturing single-ply membrane roofing systems for more than 40 years. To date, Carlisle has produced over 10 billion square feet of roofing membrane.
