Pretium Packaging has acquired Starplex Scientific Inc. from Apotex Corp. The Starplex acquisition supports Pretium’s growth objectives in the medical and consumer healthcare market sectors.
“Starplex’s quality systems and medical device knowledge will be welcome additions to our growing healthcare market segment,” said Paul Kayser, president and chief executive officer of Pretium.
In keeping with Pretium’s ongoing acquisition philosophy, existing employees and the Starplex Scientific brand will be retained.

Starplex Scientific’s Products Portfolio
Starplex Scientific has built product lines, including leak-resistant sterilized containers, biological sampling swabs and pharmaceutical grade containers and closures. Its products serve the clinical, laboratory and drug manufacturing markets in the United States and Canada.
Products are produced from ISO13485-certified operations in Toronto and Cleveland, Tennessee, with a combined 200,000–plus square feet of manufacturing space.
