talc-based-polyolefins Borealis launches Borcycle™ MF1981SY-95, a post-consumer recycled (PCR) compound with around 10% talc, perfect for high-end rigid applications, for example in the appliance industry. Borcycle MF1981SY is an ideal PCR solution used where sustainability and circularity matter. It is not intended for use in food contact, potable water contact, pharmaceutical and medical applications.

Recyclate-based Material for Multiple Applications

Borcycle™ MF1981SY is one of the first launches of recycled polyolefin (rPO). This compound is an especially valuable addition to Borealis’ rPO portfolio because it is 10% talc-filled and contains over 80% recycled material. It offers an ideal balance between stiffness and impact. The compound is especially suited for use in visible black parts, for example in small appliances. MF1981SY is available to Borealis customers in Europe.

Borcycle MF1981SY-95 offers excellent mechanical performances on top of very good optical properties. It is used in application like:
  • Vacuum cleaners and other small appliances
  • Visible and non-visible applications in white goods
  • Structural parts

Polyolefins circularity is getting an enormous boost thanks to the Borealis technology, Borcycle, which turns polyolefin-based waste streams into high-end recyclate material. As a transformative technology, it complements the existing Borealis virgin polyolefins portfolio with a range of pioneering, circular solutions. It unites state-of-the-art technology with the profound Borealis polymer expertise gained over decades.
