Lubrizol Engineered Polymers announces the launch of a new non-halogenated, flame retardant grade which combines excellent performance and a regulatory-compliant solution for wire and cable applications.
New ESTANE® ZHF 90AM9 NAT 01 TPU, made without the use of halogens, has improved key performance attributes compared to standard materials on the market today.
New One-stop Solution
This innovative new option complies with the certification specified below, making it a full, one-stop solution versus other resins available today which offer only a partial solution when meeting customer and certification demands.
UV-stabilized ESTANE® ZHF 90AM9 NAT 01 TPU is VDE 282, an innovative new option which has UL 94 V-0 and UL 105°C temperature ratings. It is a differentiated solution with very high mechanicals, excellent flame retardant properties, and good surface aesthetics.
Additionally, the new offering passes Cable Flame Test (according to UL-1581, Sec. 1061) on small diameter cables with a proven use case down to 8 mm diameter. It is now possible for one material to combine the necessary key features that wire and cable applications need, to be durable and high performing.
