Normandy-based company Polytechs has chosen to make significant changes and will display its strong willingness to focus on specialty products at 2019 Trade Fair in Düsseldorf.
Using a model based on the 4Is (Investment, Innovation, International, Independence), Polytechs has achieved a turnover of €35 million in 2018 - and invested €7.5 million in a new production machine to complement its new reactive extrusion product range - but also to increase its storage capacity via two new buildings.
In addition to these investments, this year Polytechs has completely restructured its product range and its communications – via:
- The intensive acceleration of its digital transformation
- Its brand strategy
- Its positioning in terms of "product" innovation
Thus, Polytech offers a wide range of solutions to the plastics industry – through:
- Its sub-contracting business - known as "Polytechs Solutions"
- And, its product business "Polytechs Products"
This last business is based on three pillars and is augmented by new brands and new products.
New Brands & Products for Plastics
Polyolefin Compound for 3D Printing
In partnership with Francofil, Polytechs has developed Olesteel 3D - a custom polyolefin-based compound - with strong mechanical properties and custom functions that can be developed. This compound is exclusively produced as a filament by Francofil - a Normandy-based Start-up.
Together, the two companies offer a printable solution for the generation of tools dedicated to OEM maintenance and production lines.
Productivity Solutions for Polymer Production and Processing Industry
Polytechs offers productivity solutions for the polymer production and processing industry through two standard-bearers:
- Flow Xpress, which offers two distinct technologies - one being a viscosity modifier for PP, the second combining various process aids products that reduce friction and materials pressure in the extruder.
- Clean Xpress - purge compounds accompanied by solid technical support benefiting from Polytechs' 20 years of experience in the field as well as the advice and support of well-known plastics equipment manufacturers, making the most technical and efficient offer in terms of polymer purging - especially for materials and color transitions.
Masterbatches for Polyolefins Surface Modification
Masterbatches dedicated to the surface modification of polyolefins and in particular the
Cling Masterbatch PW - Polytechs' flagship brand - is having its range increased.
After the PW 60 and PW 70, Polytechs introduces the PW S - a real "cling" effect and noise booster for agricultural silagewrap films. Polytechs is also developing a complete range of agents to extend the shelf life of foods (fruits, vegetables, etc.) wrapped in monolayer polyethylene films.
This new three-pole offer is supported by Polytechs' international dimension - namely its distribution network of over 30 partners covering Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas. In order to enhance this new momentum, this technological impulse connected to current market trends, Polytechs recently invited its network to participate in the "Distributors' Day" at its industrial site, where they learned of the profound transformations and changes that have been implemented, as well as new and future products. The day ended in an atmosphere of sharing and conviviality, on board the 18th century galleon "L'Hermione", which was present at the 2019 Armada in Rouen.
