RAMPF Presents PU-, Silicone- & Epoxy-based Electro Casting Resins at Electronica

Published on 2014-11-11. Author : SpecialChem

GRAFENBERG -- RAMPF presents high-power and high-performance electro casting resins and related application technologies for the reliable casting of electrical and electronic components at Electronica, one of the leading international trade fairs for electronic components, systems, and applications, in Munich from November 11 to 14, 2014.

RAMPF provides its customers with end-to-end solutions for protecting their electrical systems by offering materials, machinery, and manufacturing processes from a single source. The chemical expertise of RAMPF Polymer Solutions, one among leading providers of single-component and dual-component electro casting resins based on PU, silicone, and epoxy, combined with the application expertise of RAMPF Production Systems, specialists in low-pressure mixing and dispensing systems as well automation solutions, enables the development of customized complete solutions for a wide range of electrical and electronic applications.

Debut at Electronica 2014 – single-component electro casting resins from RAMPF Polymer Solutions

“Highest thermal conductivity, highest thermal and mechanical strength, and highest flame retardancy – this is what our RAKU-PUR®, RAKU-SIL®, and RAKU-POX® electro casting resins deliver,” says Dr. Klaus Schamel, Managing Director of RAMPF Polymer Solutions. “We have been designing and manufacturing made-to-measure electro casting systems for over 30 years. Our customers can rest assured that we have the best products for their applications and industries.”

RAMPF Polymer Solutions, part of the international RAMPF Group, has now expanded its product portfolio with the launch of single-component electro casting resins. They are unveiled to the public at Electronica 2014. These resins boast high thermal, chemical, and mechanical performance and are available in two levels of hardness – hard and gel. They have good stability at room temperature and feature very good flow properties due to their low viscosity. Single-component electro casting resins from RAMPF Polymer Solutions are used above all in automotive technology, where they offer maximum protection for particularly sensitive electronic components.

RTI electro casting resins – high performance in extreme conditions

When polymers are exposed to certain environmental influences, their mechanical properties deteriorate over time. Heat is one of the major factors that cause this deterioration. In general, a material that has been aged through heat will lose performance. However, knowing a material’s long-term temperature resistance provides a basis for choosing the right polymer. The long-term temperature resistance of a material can be identified by measuring the changes in its mechanical and electrical properties with reference to a predetermined value (50 percent of the initial value). This process involves aging samples at various different temperatures. These tests have shown that RTI resins from RAMPF Polymer Solutions retain their properties and functions even in extreme conditions – and thus ensure the performance of the electrical systems they are used for.

Production on three continents – when it says RAMPF, it is RAMPF

RAMPF Polymer Solutions electro casting resins are developed exclusively at the RAMPF Innovation Center at the company’s headquarters in Grafenberg. The 1000 m2 laboratory there provides state-of-the-art equipment for research and development. Production of electro casting resins is also carried out in the United States and China by our foreign subsidiaries – RAMPF Group, Inc. and RAMPF (Taicang) Co. Ltd. This means that products are available quickly to customers all over the world. It goes without saying that RAMPF overseas subsidiaries operate to the highest standards in quality and production.

About RAMPF Polymer Solutions GmbH & Co. KG

RAMPF Polymer Solutions GmbH & Co. KG is among the leading developers and manufacturers of reactive resin systems based on polyurethane, epoxy, and silicone. The company also possesses comprehensive expertise in application technology.

The product portfolio of RAMPF Polymer Solutions includes liquid and thixotropic sealing systems, electro and engineering casting resins, edge and filter casting resins, and adhesives.

Research and development are highly prioritized: Based in Grafenberg (near Stuttgart), Germany, the technology pioneer and quality leader has laboratories and facilities for application technology within its spacious Innovation Center. Every day in the RAMPF Innovation Center, new products are developed, existing products are adapted to specific customer requirements, and a huge range of material combinations are tested.

The materials created in the laboratory are tested in the application technology department, where samples are also made for customers to further enhance product quality and reduce the time to series production. Naturally, customers also receive sup-port during the product rollout phase and production process.

RAMPF Polymer Solutions attaches particular importance to renewable raw materials during the initial research phase. Bio-polyols are developed in cooperation with sister company RAMPF Eco Solutions. The potential use of recycled polyols in the composition of new products is also closely examined.

RAMPF Polymer Solutions is a company of the international RAMPF Group based in Grafenberg, Germany.
