UBE Corporation Receives ISCC PLUS Certification for Polycarbonate Diols
UBE Corporation announces that its consolidated subsidiary, UBE Corporation Europe S.A.U., has received ISCC PLUS certification for ETERNACOLL® polycarbonate diols.

Customizable Possibilities to Polyurethane Materials

UBE’s ETERNACOLL® polycarbonate diols are a large platform of solutions offering customizable possibilities to polyurethane materials as well as superior and long-term retention of performance, offering outstanding thermal stability, oil resistance, hydrolytic stability, weatherability and chemical resistance.

ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) is a certification system that offers solutions for the implementation and certification of sustainable, deforestation-free and traceable supply chains of agricultural, forestry, waste and residue raw materials, non-bio renewables and recycled carbon materials and fuels. ISCC PLUS is a certification system for all markets and sectors not regulated by the RED II (ISCC EU). ISCC PLUS covers mainly bio-based and circular raw materials, contributing to the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy.

The certification system enables UCE to produce and sell ISCC PLUS certified ETERNACOLL® polycarbonate diols using circular and biomass raw material allocated by the mass-balance method*.

Reduce GHG Emissions

UBE addresses global environmental issues by striving to reduce GHG emissions and driving the development and practical application of environmentally friendly products and technologies. And the Group will achieve its vision for 2030, defined as “A corporate group centered on specialty chemicals that contributes to the global environment, human health, and an enriched future society”.

* Mass balancing is a chain of custody option in which certified and non-certified materials are mixed physically, but kept separate on a bookkeeping basis. It allows to attribute the sustainable circular and/or bio-based material to the final products via verifiable bookkeeping and ensures the full traceability through the entire supply chain.
