Polyamides (PA) or Nylons are considered as one of the most versatile engineering plastics. PA offer excellent high temperature and electrical resistance. Their crystalline structure makes them resistant to chemicals too. Reinforcing with glass fibers makes polyamides so resilient that they can be used as a metal replacement. They are widely employed in automotive and transportation, electrical and electronics market and to manufacture various consumer goods. Some extensively used nylons are PA 6.6 also known as nylon, PA6, PPA, PA 4.6 and PA11/12.
