PE (Polyethylene) > LDPE

Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a semi rigid, translucent and cost effective material that can be easily processed. LDPE plastic offers good toughness, flexibility, low water absorption, excellent resistance to corrosion, chemicals and weather. Using LDPE in high temperature applications is not advisable.  However, it can be used in applications where corrosion resistance is necessary but structural strength, high temperature and stiffness are not significant. Some applications of LDPE include power cables, water pipes,  high clarity products like packaging films, carrier bags etc. In the present day scenario, LDPE is largely replaced by LLDPE.
