ProvaMed® TPE 1158

ProvaMed® TPE 1158 by Actega (Altana) is a food contact acceptable, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). It is sterilized by ethylene oxide, gamma radiation and steam (at 121°C for 15minutes). Exhibits high elasticity, gas permeability, ease of processing, outstanding sealing properties and excellent feel. Offers reduction of cycle times, excellent barrier effect, flexibility, excellent adhesion to plastics like PP, PC or ABS. Shows resistance to thermal, chemicals and slip. ProvaMed® TPE 1158 is used as stopper, septum, cap gasket, base material for handles, control elements, keypads and sealing rings in medical & healthcare industry. Possible applications include fabrication of handles for surgical instruments, manufacture of orthopedic aids (walking frames) and hygiene products. Complies with ISO 9001/2008, ISO 14001/2009, USP VI and ISO 10993 biocompatibility regulations.
