ENGAGE™ 8450

ENGAGE™ 8450 by Dow is a colorable, light-weight, general-purpose polyolefin elastomer (POE) grade based on ethylene octene copolymer. It is based on INSITE™ technology. Exhibits low density, excellent melt strength, processability and low shrinkage. Also exhibits excellent physical properties including elasticity, toughness, low temperature ductility and reduced surface gloss. Offers better thermal stability, heat- and impact resistance. Shows easy mixing, forming and processing on plastic and rubber equipments. It is recyclable for in-process scrap re-use. It can be processed using injection molding, extrusion and thermoforming. Suitable for making tough, resilient and flexible products. Used as a “neat” polymer and as a value-enhancing ingredient in compound formulations. Applications include footwear foams, toys, consumer and household items. ENGAGE™ 8450 is recommended for automotive bumper fascia, TPO roofing and noise vibration harshness (NVH) applications.
