Arnitel® EM460 by DSM is a high-performance, non-reinforced & non flame retarded, thermoplastic copolyester (TPC). It is a lighter, smarter, greener alternative to conventional rubbers thus, reducing environmental impact and ultimately, system costs. It is processed by injection molding and extrusion. It possesses strength & excellent processing characteristics. This food contact quality grade shows creep & chemical resistance against household chemicals like cleaning agents, sunscreen lotion and automotive greases and oils. It allows for reliable solutions due to its retention of flexibility with excellent dimensional stability even at temperatures down to -40°C or at elevated temperatures up to 100 ˚C, due to its excellent resistance to oxidizing agents and no emission of nitrogen as TPU and due to its wide direct food contact approvals (FDA/EC compliancy). It offers broad tactile properties with superior touch & feel, broadest operating temperature range from -45°C to 150°C and high tear & abrasion resistance. This grade displays high load bearing capabilities at high temperature and excellent low temperature ductility. Arnitel® EM460 is used in automotive OEM, conveyor belts, optical fiber cable guides & connectors, phone case, spider couplings, support springs and virtual reality applications. It meets ISO 18064 for TPC-ET.
