SEPTON™ 4099

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Kuraray
SEPTON™ 4099 by Kuraray is a styrene ethylene ethylene propylene styrene copolymer (SEEPS). It is a non-toxic, recyclable product exhibiting rubber-like properties over a broad temperature range owing to high heat resistance. It offers excellent mechanical properties, weather- & chemical resistance (acid, alkali, alcohol) and good low-temperature performance. It shows excellent electrical insulation and rubber-like elasticity. It imparts better tensile strength, oil retention and PE compatibility than SEBS. It exhibits moderate elongation with exceptional oil absorbency property. The high molecular weight product provides robust tensile strength and compression set. It can also replace PVC in several applications with rubber-like compounds. It is soluble in petroleum benzene, toluene, hexane, chloroform, cyclohexane, tetrahydrofuran and partially soluble in ethyl acetate & methyl ethyl ketone. It is insoluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, water and dimethylformamide. SEPTON™ 4099 is used in plastic modifiers, toys, sporting goods, films, soft-touch grips, non-woven fabric and automotive parts applications.
