Monprene® RG-14050

Monprene® RG-14050 by Teknor Apex is a versatile, low density, high performance, thermoplastic elastomer. It meets stringent German requirements for drinking water applications. It can be used in a wide range of components for direct and indirect contact with potable water. It is food contact acceptable and offers excellent adhesion to PP, good processability & colorability. This medium hardness grade is certified for cold-water (23 °C) and warm-water (60 °C) applications in accordance with Germany’s KTW (Kontakt mit Trinkwasser) guideline for hygienic assessment of organic materials in contact with drinking water. In addition, it meets the requirements of the DVGW (Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches) technical Standard W270, a test method used to determine the microbial growth on non-metallic materials intended for use in drinking water systems. It helps to avoid chemical or microbial contamination of potable water systems and prevent impairment of water quality with unwanted odors, flavors or colors. It can be extruded, injection-molded, or two-component molded onto polyolefin substrates. Monprene® RG-14050 is recommended for flexible or elastic components used in residential or commercial applications. Some examples are showerheads, plumbing seals and gaskets, membranes, valves and pipe fittings, sanitary products, connectors & hoses. It complies with various US FDA and European directive EU 10/2011 regulations and directives for food contact and drinking water applications.
