DOW CORNING® C6-165

DOW CORNING® C6-165 is a heat cured, platinum-catalyzed (1:1 by weight) class VI rubber silicone elastomer. It is a non-blooming, pigmentable, cost-effective grade available as a two-part kit. Consists of cross-linked dimethyl & methyl-vinyl siloxane copolymers and reinforcing silica. It does not contain peroxides & by-products, chlorophenyls or PCBs, organic plasticizers, phthalates or latex additives. It can be post cured. Exhibits non-tacky surface and high batch-to-batch consistency. Suitable for processing by extrusion. DOW CORNING® C6-165 is recommended for medical device and component fabrication including those implanted in humans for 29 days. Complies with US FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia) Class V, USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia) Class VI and ISO 10993-1 for surface devices. Also meets with EP (European Pharmacopoeia) Monograph 3.1.9 closures and tubing tested for volatile matter and substances soluble in hexane & USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia) tested for cytotoxicity and skin sensitization.
