Resimene® 891 by Prefere Resins is a methylol-type, medium reactive, n-butylated melamine-formaldehyde (MF) resin. It is delivered as 64% in n-butanol/xylene (65/35). It provides good cure response, excellent intercoat & substrate adhesion, good humidity resistance and higher molecular weight. It shows good compatibility to carbohydrates, esters, ketones and alcohols. Resimene® 891 is used to formulate solvent-borne enamels like base coats (automotive and can) and can (top) coatings, in combination with suitable acrylic, alkyd and polyester resins.
