Plastics supplied by Arkema

Rilsan® is a family of lightweight, renewable, recyclable, durable polyamides derived from renewable feedstock (castor oil). The unique "11-carbon chain" yields a specific crystallinity profile that is very high in hydrogen bond density. This contributes to a higher melt point, lower fuel and gas permeability, and improved impact properties compared to 'the more traditional' polyamide12. Polyamide 11 typically is more flexible, has better dimensional stability & better impact properties compared to typical short chain polyamides. Rilsan® grades are a suitable sustainable solution in fast-growing sectors, such as new energy vehicles, 3D printing, as well as consumer goods, electronics, sports, and lifestyle markets.
