Polylactic acid. It is made from lactic acid derived from sugary nutrients obtained from corn starch. It is a biobased and biodegradable polymer. Offers good odor barrier, good oxygen barrier, resistance to grease, water and alcohol, high water vapor permeability and certified compostability. Typical applications include packaging (such as food and cosmetics), catering crockery, cutlery, housing parts, sport and leisure products.
