ecovio® PS 1606

ecovio® PS 1606 by BASF is a fully compostable biopolymer. It is composed of ecoflex® and PLA (poly-lactic acid) and consists of more than 70 % renewables. This grade possesses water-tight & high tear resistance and high melt strength. ecovio® PS 1606 is a printable and sealable grade. It can be processed on conventional blown film plants for polyethylene. The grade provides barriers against fat & grease and can be applied to both paper & board packaging elements by coextrusion. It gives long-life freshness due to its aroma barrier properties. This grade provides a functional barrier against the migration of undesired substances like mineral oils or benzophenone. It also issues excellent barrier against liquids which allows the product to be used for hot and cold drink cups. This compound also protects against saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons. This grade complies with food safety requirements.
