Ultradur® B4340ZG4 RX2

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BASF
Ultradur® B4340ZG4 RX2 by BASF is a tailor-made, impact modified, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) reinforced with 20 wt% glass fiber. It exhibits resistance against media such as splash water, oils or salt. This grade absorbs radar waves in the range of 76-81 GHz. It is intended to be used as material to protect radar antennas from electromagnetic noise. The material shows constant protection of sensors against electromagnetic radiation up to atleast 120 GHz. For this grade, ~2 mm is the lowest wall thickness for optimal radar absorption. Ultradur® B4340ZG4 RX2 reduces signal noise, thus increasing the safety in road traffic. This dielectrically optimized material solution is used in housings and parts with higher mechanical loading. It is used as a rear cover of sensor housing or as an insert behind the print circuit board. It is suitable for high-performance radar sensors for automated driving.
