Ultramid® TG3S

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BASF
Ultramid® TG3S is a heat stabilized, impact modified partially aromatic polyamide 6 reinforced with 15% glass fiber. Is toughest of all partially aromatic polyamides. Possesses good elastic, electrical and mechanical properties, high melting point, low tendency to creep and excellent sliding friction properties. Provides low shrinkage, low warpage, good toughness at low temperatures, high dimensional stability, rigidity, strength, stiffness and thermal stability, high impact strength, slow water absorption and good processability. Exhibits outstanding resistance to chemicals, lubricants, fuels, greases, oils, hydraulic fluids and coolants, refrigerants, dyes, paints, cleaners, degreasing agents, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and many other solvents such as glycol, ethers, esters, organic acids and aliphatic alcohols. Is resistant to corrosion, to aqueous solutions of salts and alkalis and to stress-crack formation compared to many amorphous plastics. Processed by injection molding. Used for applications requiring improved toughness in combination with a balance of strength, stiffness, excellent moldability and surface aesthetics. Recommended for applications such as window hardware, wheel chairs wheels, bicycle wheels, power tool housings, hose clamps, clips and fasteners. Is compliant with RoHS directive 2011/65/EC and WEEE directive 2002/96/EC.
