BIOPLAST® 900

BIOPLAST 900 is a plasticizer-free thermoplastic starch. It contains biologically sourced polymers and is GMO-free. Is suitable for injection molding and thermoforming applications. Exhibits molding properties similar to conventional plastics, such as PP and PS. Possesses high heat resistance, 100% biodegradability, organic recyclability and 69% bio-based content (with 51% Bio-based Carbon content). Products made of BIOPLAST 900 can withstand boiling temperatures without losing their shape, functionality and efficiency; even at high filling temperature the taste of liquids/food is not affected. Meets the cycle time of conventional plastics with a cycle time of 5 seconds for the coffee capsule application. Allows production of products which are applicable for hot filling, printable by flexographic and offset printing without pretreatment, sealable (hot, RF, ultra sonic) and can be colored with master-batches. Used in injection molded articles like cutlery, medical devices, clips, cups for hot and cold drinks, semi-finished products, thermoformed products like food trays and as a blend partner in combination with BIOPLAST GF 106/02. Complies with biodegradability according to EN 13432 and is fit for food contact applications.
