FORTRON® ICE 716A

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Celanese
FORTRON® ICE 716A is a linear, semi-crystalline, flame retardant polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) grade reinforced with mineral and glass fiber. Is relatively impermeable to gases, hydrocarbons and other liquids compared to other materials. Provides good flow, high dimensional stability, low coefficient of friction, low shrinkage, excellent mechanical properties, creep resistance at high temperatures, high continuous use temperature (160°C to 240°C) and very low moisture absorption. Offers high hardness, high rigidity and excellent heat resistance under load bearing conditions. Exhibits improved processability, fast cycle times and faster crystallization rate than Fortron 6165A6 along with excellent resistance to corrosion, hydrolysis, oxidation and paraffin buildup. Shows excellent chemical resistance to all solvents below 200°C, acids, bases, typical and alternative automotive fuels and petroleum fluids at elevated temperatures. Can be processed by injection molding. Is suitable for lead-free soldering and metal replacement applications. Complies with RoHS, PFOS and PFOA regulations.
