Compostable® 1006

Polylactic acid. It is starch-based and gluten-free, made from corn, tapioca and potato starches that primarily come from the American Midwest (versus oil from the Middle East). It has been designed to have an excellent balance of high stiffness, toughness, and processability. Can be processed on existing conventional electric and hydraulic reciprocating screw injection molding machines. Recommended for thin wall injection molding applications requiring high stiffness. Used for single-use disposables as well as packaging including cups, straws, cutlery, and bags.
