Grilamid® L 20 LM

Grilamid® L 20 LM is a medium viscosity, UV, light and heat stabilised polyamide 12 (PA 12) grade. Is formed by the polymerisation of laurolactam (lactam 12, obtained from the basic raw material butadiene), a ring-shaped, long-chain monomer with 12 carbon atoms. The modification with a nucleation agent results in a low post crystallization and low post shrinkage. Exhibits low water absorption, excellent dimensional stability, high resistance to chemicals, hydrolysis, abrasion, oil and weathering. Possesses lowest density among all polyamides, low weight, high impact strength down at low temperatures, high processability and high surface quality. Is suitable for processing by extrusion. Used in automotive applications like powertrain and chassis, thin walled primary copper wire insulation and secondary fiber optic cable sheathing as a protection against termites and ants, sports & leisure, and in consumer good applications like hydraulics & pneumatics and engineering tools. Complies with REACH, RoHS and WEEE.
