KURARAY POVAL™ 100-88 by Kuraray is a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It can influence not only particle size distribution but also the application properties such as viscosity, stability to stirring, the freeze/thaw stability, pigment compatibility, electrolyte stability and open time of the emulsion. It is water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It is used as an adhesive promoter. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 100-88 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC regulation. Its shelf life is 12 months.
