KURARAY POVAL™ 28-98 by Kuraray is fully hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It shows very good dispersing power and resistance against organic solvent. It exhibits good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity. It possesses good water solubility, excellent film-forming properties, high tensile strength, and elasticity. It provides good cohesion and adhesion to fibers, fillers and pigments. It is used as an adhesive promoter. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 28-98 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
