KURARAY POVAL™ 32-88

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Kuraray
KURARAY POVAL™ 32-88 by Kuraray is a partially saponified, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). It has uniform chemical structure and shows great adhesion. It offers extension of the open time, influence on the rheology, good remoistening properties and high degree of flatness during storage under fluctuating air humidity. It provides minimal blocking tendency even in high air humidity and fast setting after reactivation. It is used as a water-activated adhesive raw material. It can also be used as a protective colloid which can influence the particle size distribution, viscosity, stability to stirring, freeze/thaw stability, pigment compatibility & electrolyte stability. It is recommended for gumming of paper on the reverse side (e.g. postage stamps and labels), coatings, envelopes & Jiffy®-type bags. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives. Aqueous solutions can be added to polymer emulsions that are already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol. KURARAY POVAL™ 32-88 has a shelf life of 12 months.
