KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 HV is fully hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade by Kuraray. It offers good cohesion and adhesion to fibers, fillers and pigments. It exhibits good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity. It possesses good water solubility, excellent film-forming properties, high tensile strength, and elasticity. It shows very good dispersing power and resistance against organic solvent. It is used as an adhesive promoter. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 HV can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It can be used in wide range of applications such as textile, construction, ceramics, packaging and electronics.
