KURARAY POVAL™ 47-88 is a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) grade by Kuraray. Exhibits excellent water solubility, strong film-forming properties and oil & grease resistance. Provides wetting properties on polar substances, good pigmentability, adhesiveness, low ash & VOC content and emulsifying property. KURARAY POVAL™ 47-88 is suitable for processing by injection molding and blown or flat film extrusion. Used as adhesive promoters and protective colloids. Possible applications include adhesives, specialty papers, building materials (additive for mortar, cement etc.), polymerization (emulsion/suspension), temporary binders for ceramics, gas barrier coating, textiles sizing and fluid loss control in oil well cementing. Meets SVHC.
