KURARAY POVAL™ KM-618 by Kuraray is a biodegradable, hydrophilic, specialty polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) grade. It shows good hygroscopic efficiency, salting-out effect, low degree of hydrolysis and reaction with aluminum sulfate to form a gel. It exhibits excellent water solubility, strong film-forming properties, high absorption into inorganic substances, oil- and grease resistance. It provides good pigment-ability, high adhesive strength, low ash & VOC content, emulsifying and wetting properties on polar substances. KURARAY POVAL™ KM-618 is suitable for processing by injection molding and blown or flat film extrusion. It applicable in adhesives, specialty papers, building materials (additive for mortar, cement etc.), polymerization (emulsion/suspension), temporary binders for ceramics, gas barrier coating, textiles sizing and fluid loss control in oil well cementing.
