SELVOL™ 418 by Sekisui Chemical is a white to cream colored, intermediate hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH or PVA) grade available in the form of granules. It is manufactured from vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) via a multistep process. Exhibits high tensile strength, excellent adhesive & bonding characteristics and ease of film formation. Offers solubility in hot water and excellent stability to sunlight. Provides resistance to greases, petroleum hydrocarbons, animal or vegetable oils and organic solvents. SELVOL™ 418 is recommended for spun sizing in textiles & adhesives applications such as polymerization, envelope, tube winding, book binding, padding, cup, cigarette fiber and carton/ case sealing.
