SELVOL™ 540

SELVOL™ 540 by Sekisui Specialty Chemical is a white to off-white colored, partially hydrolyzed, remoistenable polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade available in the form of granules. It is manufactured from vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) via a multistep process.
  • Exhibits good mold release, high tensile strength, excellent bonding characteristics and ease of film formation.
  • Offers better adhesion to hydrophobic surfaces, solubility in hot water and excellent stability to sunlight.
  • Provides resistance to greases, petroleum hydrocarbons, animal & vegetable oils and organic solvents.
  • Suitable for spun sizing in textiles, adhesives applications such as polymerization, envelope, label, book binding and padding.
  • Other applications include carton, case sealing, wood, creping and grease resistant papers.
  • Designed for building products like cement, plaster additive and peelable caulks and specialty applications.
  • SELVOL™ 540 is recommended for strippable coatings, fragrance encapsulants, films, molded products, PVC suspension aids, nonwovens and ceramics.
