SELVOL™ 540S by Sekisui Specialty Chemical is a white to cream colored polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH or PVA) grade. It is manufactured from vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) via a multistep process. It exhibits high tensile strength, excellent adhesive & bonding characteristics and ease of film formation. It offers solubility in hot water and excellent stability to sunlight. Provides resistance to greases, petroleum hydrocarbons, animal or vegetable oils and organic solvents. SELVOL™ 540S is recommended for building products like joint cement, plaster additive, stucco finishes and peelable caulks & speciality applications such as seed coatings, films and ceramics.
