POLYSTYRENE CRYSTAL 1340 is a water insoluble, high molecular weight crystal polystyrene grade. Exhibits mild odor. Allows maximum dilution rates with high impact polystyrene grades such as POLYSTYRENE IMPACT 7240. In dilution, POLYSTYRENE CRYSTAL 1340 gives excellent processing in both extrusion and thermoforming with good finished product showing dimensional stability and mechanical properties. It can be processed using injection molding. Applications for POLYSTYRENE CRYSTAL 1340 include trays & small boxes, housewares, healthcare products, electrical appliances, white goods, media & jewel boxes, corrugated sheets, technical parts, compounds & masterbatches, food & beverage packaging, housewares, appliances, cups, trays by direct gassing (in line thermoforming), dairy sheets, CD boxes, toys, office equipments and eggs boxes. Incompatible with strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizing agents and halogens.
