CALIBRE™ MEGARAD™ 2081 6LR by Trinseo is a lipid resistant polycarbonate (PC) resin. It exhibits significant property retention when exposed to 20% intralipid emulsion solution under strained conditions compared to standard polycarbonate. It provides sterilization through gamma & E-beam radiation. It is suitable for processing by injection molding. On exposure to high energy radiation can reduce color shift by 50% compared to general purpose polycarbonate resins. It contains mold release agent. CALIBRE™ MEGARAD™ 2081 6LR is used in medical applications like fluid & drug delivery: syringes, stopcocks, luers and in renal care: blood filter housings, dialyzer housings, etc. It has undergone biocompatibility testing based on ISO 10993 (Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices).
