Vegemat®

Vegemat® by Vegeplast is 100% biosourced, 100% biodegradable compostable bioplastics. It is obtained by transforming cereal plants. They replace common plastics and are aluminium-, BPA- and oil-free. Their agro-material composition contains fibers (constitute between 40 and 50% of the total weight of cereal plants). Fibres are reinforcers that improve mechanical properties, starch (contains thermoplastic properties), proteins (constitute between 5 and 10% of the total dry mass of cereal plants and has thermoplastic properties, combined with starch, proteins form the VEGEMAT® thermoplastic matrix) and lipids (constitute between 2 and 4% of the total dry mass of cereal plants, their lubricating action plays a role in obtaining VEGEMAT® manufactured pieces). Vegemat® is suitable for packaging applications and can be processed by injection molding process.
