R 970E by Videolar is a milky white colored, odorless, water insoluble, high impact polystyrene (HIPS) grade available in the form of pellets. It is obtained from the styrene monomer, added to 5% up to 15% of polybutadiene. Exhibits high stiffness, stretching capacity, high rigidity and high impact resistance. Can be processed by extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding. Recommended for shoe heels, disposables and food packaging applications. Complies with the requirements of ANVISA 105/99 (Brazil) & GMC (Mercosur), U.S. FDA 21 CFR 177.1640 and EU 10/2011 (European Union) regulations for use in contact with food. R 970E fulfills the requirements of UL 94 under File Number E220962.
