Strengths and Limitations of Polyetherketone

Polyetherketone (PEK) is a rigid high heat thermoplastic. It is highly resistant to chemicals, heat and wear and tear. PEK is thermally stable and flame retardant in nature. PEK is known to have a higher melting point and heat distortion temperature than PEEK, but PEEK is somewhat more flexible. PEK has relatively high ultimate tensile properties. These properties when combined with its good dimensional stability make it ideal for applications like medical, automotive, aerospace, cable insulation and many more.
