Creativity at UK Plastics Show

SpecialChem / Mar 24, 2008

If you think all trade shows are the same, get yourself along to PDM, to be held in Telford, England, 15th -17th April 2008 (www.pdmevent.com). PDM stands for Plastics Design & Moulding and the accent is as much on design as it is on processing. The Design Resource Centre is a stand like no other. It will comprise over 150 material samples displayed on a wall where designers and development engineers can literally get to grips with the materials. Organised by Chris Lefteri, product designer, author and tutor of a 3D product design course at London's Central St. Martins School of Art and Design, the idea is for people to touch, feel, look and learn about plastics and other possible design/material solutions. Each material sample is contained in its own folded plastic module and the accompanying label gives details of what the material is, the process used to make the particular sample, a list of key features, typical applications and a web link to the supplier for more information.
