Ford’s Ambitious Post-Consumer Recycled Plastics Program Gains Momentum

In early 2006, Ford Motor Co. implemented a North American sourcing strategy that mandated - where supply was available - the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) exterior-grade engineering polymers on new vehicle programs. Such parts are typically molded from black-pigmented PCR polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic polyolefins (TPOs) and used in multiple underhood, underbody, and exterior vehicle components.
